The purpose of Minimum Phase Response Modeler is allow the user to create and save modeled frequency and impedance files (.frd & .zda) for use in other software, such as crossover design programs. It also allows for the user to import existing frequency response files and modify them in various ways. The program will calculate the minimum phase response for whatever modeling or modifications have been made. Once the modifications or modeling are complete the results can be saved as an frd file. The output will contain both frequency and phase response for 500 sample points.

The spreadsheet contains a built-in simple box model that will produce the frequency and phase response of both sealed and vented systems when the driver and box parameters are entered. It also contains nine standardized textbook high and low pass shapes, which can be combined for bandpass shapes as well. The coefficients for these shapes can be manually modified to produce almost any response corner shape desired. The program offers the ability to add or subtract delay from the phase response. You can adjust response or impedance up or down any amount you choose as well, or you can modify the response using five Minimum Phase Equalization Modules that are adjustable to any frequency, bandwidth Q, or gain that you choose.

The spreadsheet also includes a separate Impedance modeler that uses driver, box, and port impedance parameters to develop an impedance curve. This section also contains five Minimum Phase Equalization Modules as well for shaping the impedance curve as desired. Once completed, this modeled impedance response can also be saved out as a zda file containing both impedance magnitude and phase.

The file contains a Users Guide that should be reviewed or printed off before using the program. The beta test file also includes a loaded frd file (Vifa PL18 woofer) that can be used for testing or can be cleared if you wish to model your own response or import a different frd file.
