The Series Crossover Designer is
an
accurate crossover simulation tool built into an Excel spreadsheet. This
spreadsheet will accurately produce the frequency, phase and impedance response
of Two way systems using series crossovers. It is designed to work with actual
driver frequency and impedance data in the form of .frd and .zma/zda files which
can be imported into the program. It can also model textbook filters into 8 and
4 ohm resistances as well. It makes use of full x,y,z geometric
location of the individual drive units and gives you a movable listening axis to
view off-axis lobing. It contains up to third order electrical High and Low Pass
circuits that can include several configurations of parallel and series contour
and compensating elements in the overall circuit. It
has individual sections for woofer and tweeter circuits, each with SPL and
Impedance charts, as well as System charts that show summed SPL response, phase
response, system impedance, and crossover transfer functions. Current

The program is based on the Passive Crossover Designer file, but has been reduced to a 2-way version only with the circuit redesigned as a series crossover circuit. It comes with a full User Guide, sample frd and zma files, and sample competed session files that can be used with the User Guide as a tutorial. It is highly recommend that you download the User Guide and these files as well, and read through the User Guide before diving into the program.
